Guadalupe Torres
She began her professional career in Seville, at the Compañía Andaluza de Danza with which she worked at the important theatres and festivals around the world. She has shared stage and was invited by the most prominent flamenco artists such as Marcos Flores, Manuel Liñán, Miguel Poveda, Montse Cortés, María Pagés, El Güito , artists of various generations who have counted on her because of her versatility, freshness and strength.
She has been awarded twice: in the Contest of Choreography of Spanish Dance
and Flamenco (Madrid) in 2007 for "A miedos, Colores ..", and in 2010 she obtained the prize for Best choreography as soloist by "De los Rincones", name that was given to her first solo show premiered in the cycle La otra mirada del flamenco at the
Pradillo Theatre of Madrid.
The same year she became finalist in the Contest of Cante de la Minas de La Unión.
In 2008 she formed Compañía with David Coria and Jonatan Miró in the show
"Momentos", premiered in the Veranos de la Villa of Madrid. In 2012 she premiered with great success her second project as soloist "Acuérdate cuando entonces" with which she was invited to the most important European festivals like the Luxembourg Festival, the Helsinki Festival or the Biennale of Holland.
In 2013, this show was selected to be part of the "Flamenco viene del Sur" Cycle.
Guadalupe is a regular dancer in the best tablaos in Spain and combines her choreographic work with flamenco courses around the world.
This bailaora is without any doubt one of the rising values of flamenco of our days.
