Concha Jareño
Trained in Spanish Dance, she gained numerous state awards in Spanish Flamenco: the National Awards “Matilda Corral” and “Mario Maya” for Flamenco Art in Cordoba 2007. Concha Jareño is one of the most outstanding contemporary Flamenco dancers. She has participated in the most important Flamenco tablaos in Spain and around the world. She has worked with renowned artists such as Yolanda Heredia, La China and Pedro Azorín, among others. She took her first steps in the Company of Rafael de Córdoba, which she joined in 1998. Then she took part in Yolanda Heredia's project of ‘Mujeres al borde de una bata de cola’ (Women on the verge of a flamenco dress), Rafaela Carrasco's shows ‘La música del cuerpo’ (Body music) and “Otra mirada del Flamenco” (Another look at flamenco), which were demonstrated at many major festivals. Concha also danced on the big tablaos of Spain. In 2005 she created the show ‘Y una batita de cola’ alongside Yolanda Heredia and Isabel Bayón, taking an active part in it. In 2009 she presented “Algo” at one of the most prestigious Flamenco Festivals in Spain “Festival de Jerez” where she was awarded with the “Premio revelación” and received rave reviews and a fantastic response from the festival audience. In 2010 the "Algo" performance was terminated on the most prestigious tablao of the country - Biennale in Seville, in a cycle titled "Flamenco of the future".
