Stars of the Festival
Karen Lugo
She was born in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. At the age of four she got on the road to the world of Spanish dance, classical ballet and then to Flamenco.
At the age of 17 she decided to expand her knowledge of flamenco and moved to Madrid to get classes at the "Amor de Dios" Academy and learn from the best teachers of this art. Arriving in Madrid, she begins to perform at the various dance companies in group and solo and to tour around Europe, Central America and Asia.
She received the third prize for choreography at the XVII Spanish dance and Flamenco competition in Madrid and the first prize for flamenco dance at the International Festival of Almería.
Karen took part in the "Fresh Blood, the young stars of flamenco" Festival, which took place in the Spanish theater in Madrid, as well as in the cycle named "Los Novísimos" at the Festival of Jerez.
She danced at the premiere of the play "Rojo y Rosa" by Agustín Carbonell "El Bola" at the Theater of Lara.
She was invited by the CRN producer to the program of cultural exchange with the Gypsy community "Flamenco Roots".
Javier Latorre gave her the opportunity to do a solo act in his play "El duende y el Reloj", which was represented at the Guitar Festival in Cordoba, at the National Contest of Flamenco Art in Cordoba and Festival in Jerez.
