Spring in flamenco rhythms. The XII International Flamenco Festival "¡Viva España!"

A great Spanish fiesta will be carried out at the height of spring in Moscow – the International Flamenco Festival ¡Viva España!. The homage to the Spanish culture and dance will be held on April 5-10, 2013 at the Design Factory FLACON and in the STATE ACADEMIC MALY THEATRE. This year 2013 the Festival ¡Viva España! will be held for the twelfth time.

The event consists of two contest day and the Spain Day, and three special evening concerts. The guests can enjoy not only the modern flamenco art, but also taste the Spanish national tradition.

The first stage of the Festival will take place on April, 5 and 6 in the Flamenco House Flamenquería where the best artists from all over Russia will present their numbers to the Spanish jury formed by professional choreographers and soloists of well-known theatres in Spain.

The second stage is the celebration of the Day of Spain, April 7, at the Design Factory FLACON where the winners of The Golden Centaurita-2013 will be awarded. In the program: an awards ceremony and a performance of the winners, a flamenco fashion show, a fair and sale of Spanish products, a lottery trips to Spain and so on.

The closing of the Festival will take place on April 8, 9 and 10. The flamenco stars of actuality will perform their shows in the Maly Theatre: Eva La Yerbabuena, Rocío Molina and Farruco, eldest son of the famous Gypsy dynasty The Farrucos.

About the Festival:

The Festival ¡Viva España! has been crucial for Spain-lovers and the culture life in Russia for more than eleven years. This project became one of the most important events in Russian cultural life, promoting the strengthening and development of cultural and friendly relations between Russia and Spain.

Each year the Festival invites world-renowned Masters of art and fashion, who are brought together by the love for Spain, its culture and flamenco. The jury is formed by famous experts, choreographers, critics, artists and soloists of the most important theatres in Spain.

The project is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and with support of the Embassy of Spain in Russia.  The Festival ¡Viva España! is not a commercial event and it is intended to promote the idea exchange, the growth of the professional level of Russian artists and the promotion of flamenco culture in Russia.

The Festival is organized by the company OOO Flamenqueria; its principal activity is promotion and popularization of Spanish cultural heritage in Russia. It favors the development of international collaboration between these two countries.
